Thule Door Clips 225/226 Mixed Set (2× 225 + 2× 226) — Metal Clamp Brackets for Classic 400 / 400XT Foot Packs (SquareBar Era), Bag Marking 753207018 (12/99), Stamped MAX 75 KG
Condition: New old stock appearance from sealed OEM bag; opened for identification only if pictured. Light shelf wear possible. Clips only—no pads, no feet, no bars, no instructions.
This is a genuine mixed clip set for classic Thule clamp-on racks: two (2) clips stamped “225” and two (2) clips stamped “226.” These steel brackets hook under the door frame and slide into Thule 400 / 400XT feet (SquareBar generation). The 225/226 numbers denote the vehicle-specific clip shapes; the MAX 75 KG embossing is Thule’s published static load notation for the rack system when properly installed.
What’s Included
- (2) Thule metal door clips stamped 225
- (2) Thule metal door clips stamped 226
- Original hardware bag reference often seen with these clips: 753207018 (date code around 12/99)
(No rubber pads, no feet, no bars.)
Features
- OEM geometry for secure engagement on specified door openings
- Heavy-gauge coated steel for durability and corrosion resistance
- Direct interface with Thule 400 / 400XT clamp feet (SquareBar era)
- Clear clip number stamps (225/226) to match legacy fit guides
Most Probable Fitment (verify before purchase)
These mixed-number sets were commonly used on late-1990s/early-2000s coupes/hatches that required two different clip shapes front/rear. Based on period fit guides, the most likely applications include:
- BMW 3-Series Compact (E36 318ti), ~1994–2000 — frequently listed with 225/226 pattern for 400/400XT feet.
- Audi TT (8N) 2-door Coupe/Roadster, ~2000–2006 — many legacy instructions call for a mixed 225/226 set with classic feet.
What You Still Need for a Complete Rack
- Feet: Thule 400 or 400XT (SquareBar era)
- Pads: The matching rubber pads from the same kit (corner-specific; not included)
- Bars: Thule SquareBar (period style) with end caps
- Optional: locks/keys
Not Compatible With
- Traverse / Evo Clamp feet (480/480R, Evo Clamp) and their 145xxx fit kits—these use different clips and pads.
- AeroBlade/Evo bars unless adapted with the correct feet and complete, matching fit kit.
How They’re Used
Slide each metal clip into the corresponding 400/400XT foot, place the correct rubber pad at the door corner, position per the fit sheet (measurement from glass/roof edge), then tighten the foot to spec. The mixed set means one number typically goes on the front and the other on the rear (or left/right) per the original instruction map.
