Prime-Line RP77355 Five-Piece Pipe Nipple Extractor Set, 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″ Sizes, Hardened Steel, Square-Drive/Hex-Drive Compatible, For Removing Broken Nipples from Fittings & Valves
Condition: New, not used; all pieces intact in original holder/case (no missing components).
This Prime-Line RP77355 pipe nipple extractor set is a compact, jobsite-ready kit for removing broken or corroded nipples from tees, elbows, valves, manifolds, hydrant bodies, and equipment ports. Each extractor grips from the inside of the nipple: insert the correctly sized tool, turn counter-clockwise with a wrench or tap handle, and the fluted/expanding profile bites as torque increases—backing the stuck piece out without damaging the female threads in the fitting. The five most common plumbing/HVAC sizes (1/8″–3/4″ NPT) cover gas, water, air, and hydronic service work on residential and light-commercial systems.
Features
- Five extractors included: 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″ nominal NPT sizes.
- Internal-grip design: Removes pipe nipples broken off flush with a fitting—no need for external grip or access.
- Hardened steel construction: Durable, re-usable tools for shop or field use.
- Square/hex drive friendly: Turn with a tap wrench, adjustable wrench, or 4-point socket for controlled torque.
- Progressive biting profile: The more you turn, the tighter it grips to back out seized nipples.
- Compact organizer: Keeps sizes separated and easy to identify in a service bag.
Applications / Spheres of Use
- Plumbing service: Remove corroded nipples from water heater unions, faucets, hose bibbs, tees, and elbows.
- HVAC & Hydronics: Boiler/drain, air-separator, and radiator connections; condensate and drain fittings.
- Gas piping (by qualified personnel): Black iron and galvanized nipples on furnaces, unit heaters, and appliances.
- Compressed air / shop utilities: Manifold ports and regulator bodies.
- Facility maintenance: Quick repairs where female threads must be preserved.
How to Use (best practice)
- Select the correct size extractor for the nominal nipple.
- Apply penetrating oil, allow dwell time on heavily corroded pieces.
- Insert extractor into the nipple and seat it firmly (light taps if needed).
- Turn counter-clockwise with a wrench/tap handle; maintain steady pressure.
- Clean female threads and re-dope/tape before installing the replacement nipple.
