Product Description

The Hager 1250 Series Spring Hinge is a commercial-grade adjustable tension self-closing hinge designed to automatically return a door to the closed position using an internal spring mechanism. Built from steel and finished in satin chrome, it’s commonly used on interior doors where you want reliable close action without installing a surface closer—such as office corridors, utility rooms, break rooms, or light commercial tenant spaces. The adjustable spring tension allows you to fine-tune closing force to match door weight, width, and site conditions, while the included pin and Allen wrench make setup straightforward.

UL approved for use on doors 4’0″ x 8’0″, but Hager does not recommend using spring hinges on doors over 7’0″ in favor of hydraulic door closers.
For maximum versatility use all spring hinges or a combination of spring hinges and ball bearing or anti-friction hinges. Do not use plain bearing hinges. Strong wind conditions, drafts, carpeting drag, twisted/misaligned frames, or weatherstripping on doors may require additional spring hinges. Full spring tension may not be required on all hinges.
Doors over 3’0″ x 7’0″ or over 100 lbs require three spring hinges. Doors 150-180 lbs require four spring hinges.
